We had to replace an exterior door anyway and the previous sensor was in pretty bad shape and cracked after 20 something years and I had a new front door installed and the old front door had wired security. It works like a champ. Snipped the old sensor off and spliced in the new sensor. After new sensor was installed, painted over it and you can't notice it

Great sensor, easy to pair with my hub and simple to set up with smart things. I am using it hardwired and it is working exactly as I hoped it would. I do wish I could force it to refresh more frequently or on request especially since I have it hardwired so there should be no reason for it to save power as if it were on the battery. The motion detection seems... imperfect, but I am using it primarily for temp and humidity monitoring which works great.
