PIRAMID XL-MIL and HS is a dual technology volumetric intrusion sensor which integrates a proprietary stereo doppler microwave design and passive infrared. These two complementary technologies must be activated simultaneously to generate an intrusion alarm. Dual technology volumetric sensors (PIRAMID) integrate a proprietary microwave design using stereo doppler along with passive infrared technology. The microwave technology detects the motion of the intruder and the infrared detects a change in IR radiation as the intruder moves through the field of detection. The combination of these two technologies provides a reliable and powerful solution. PIRAMID sensors offer highly-reliable volumetric protection over a wide variety of extreme environmental conditions. Advanced signal processing for each of the two technologies provides immunity to randomly moving targets such as vibration, moving vegetation and temperature variations.
