Vicon V15LPG BNC Surge Protection Device

The V15LPG BNC Surge Protection Device from Vicon is an economical coupling device that protects video equipment against voltage surges. This unit easily installs between the mating video-in BNC connector and the coaxial cable coming from the source device. The shell of this unit can be grounded with the attached clamp. This unit consists of a male and female BNC connector, two PN silicon transient suppressors, and rectifier diodes. The PN silicon device combines the ability to withstand high surges of current with fast response times. Transient surges trigger the suppressor to shunt the surge to the shield of the coaxial cable and the current is then safely dissipated to ground. The rectifier diodes reduce the capacitance of the unit, eliminating any reduction of signal quality.
