Are you getting the read range you want from your card reader If not, it’s likely your card reader has contact or close proximity to metal... which causes the interference. This buffer plate is designed to help. It improves the reader’s range by separa ting your RF reader a full inch away from the metal surface and provides a High Density Polyethelene (HDPE) insulator. With its universal, pre-drilled & countersunk hole patterns and other markings, this buffer plate is designed to be very little work for an installer to use on any combination of reader, pedestal, housing, wall, etc. The countersunk holes allow the use of socket wrenches and recessed nuts so your card reader will mount flush.

Metal surfaces, where access control readers are often mounted, interfere with RFID transmission. This buffer plate optimizes reader range by inserting a one-inch layer of high-density polyethylene insulation between RFID readers and the pedestals, metal hoods or enclosures where they are mounted.
