• When a credential is read by the Handheld Reader, the credential data is wireless ly sent to the Reader’s Base Unit, which is hard-wired to a Wiegand port on the control panel. The control panel verifies whether a credential is valid and sends verification to the Reader. Since the system interfaces with the customer’s existing datab ase, credential data remains up to date.
• The Reader Unit also controls a relay function, such as triggering an alarm or controlling a door or gate.
