The Schlage M490DE delayed egress electromagnetic lock is designed to meet NFPA 101 life safety code while providing the same robust, easy-to-install, security of our M400 Series magnetic locks. The M490DE has a 15 s delayed egress timer with audible alarm which can be configured to trigger by an internal "plunger switch" or by external contacts, such as a Request-to-Exit push bar. All M400 Series electromagnetic locks are symmetrical with field-selectable handing, allowing optimum placement of the magnet no matter the application. They are designed to provide automatic voltage sensing for 12 and 24 V along with polarity protection to make wiring less complex.
